Travelling with a Peanut Allergy

How To Travel Bali Safely With A Peanut Allergy

Peanuts are a fundamental component of Indonesian cuisine, appearing in many dishes in various forms—whole, crushed, ground into paste, or pressed for oil. However, in Indonesian cooking, vegetable oil is more commonly used than peanut oil for daily meal preparation. Peanuts enhance the flavor, texture, and richness of Indonesian dishes, featuring prominently in sauces, condiments, snacks, and main courses. It's worth noting that in the Indonesian language, the word "Kacang" refers to nuts, peanuts, and beans, which can sometimes lead to confusion; people might assume that an allergy to nuts implies an allergy to all types of beans as well.
